No, you don't have to have reservations but I would recommend doing so, especially if you're planning on going during peak hours.

We love Texas but this time around the cuts of meat were extremely salty. We did let the manager know about it and he apologized but it made the dining experience a bit rough.
I will say, the salad bar was OUTSTANDING!! Service was great and it's located in a great shopping area. Remember to sign up for their rewards program. It pays to eat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 194170249Dec 26, 2022
This place was okay. Staff was wonderful, but the food was inconsistent. Salad bar area is decent, but not enough options in comparison to other Brazilian steakhouses I've been to.
In terms of the meat, quality was so-so. The picanha was very very good, but it only went to our table once, and only once we asked for it. The spicy picanha was also good in flavor, but the meat was sometimes tough. Lamb picanha was another good one, and had good flavor.
The rest of the meats we got were either over cooked, too salty, or very sinewy and hard to chew.
For desserts, creme brulee and bananas foster pie were good, but the flan was way too sweet. For the hot items, the pao de quiejo (Brazilian cheese bread) and the cinnamon sugar bananas were good, but the mashed potatoes were extremely salty. It was a shame cuz the flavor was good, but I just couldn't eat too much of it due to the salt level.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris B.Boise, ID641111Nov 24, 2022
I had made reservations for Thanksgiving night dinner with my wife a few weeks ago, and I had been looking forward to a great night of traditional thanksgiving dishes and sides, as well as the full regular menu with all of the table side meats until your heart's content. Plus the whole restaurant feels like an inverted half pipe with cool glowy lighting everywhere, so it seemed like a much better idea than a holiday at home.
We showed up a little early to our 5:15 reservation, and we were accommodated into the perfect corner table away from the masses and next to the front window. Our server was an incredibly nice young girl that explained how their service worked, and invited us to help ourselves to the buffet. The buffet had amazing thanksgiving fixings from turkey breast with fresh cranberry sauce, to mashed sweet potatoes or potatoes au gratin. It was great! All of it was amazing, and I didn't need to do any of the thanksgiving dishes.
So far, they are batting a thousand for 1/365 of the meals they offer during the year. But my problems showed up when we moved over to the primary churrasco experience. My first piece of beef was so chewy and had so much sinew that I couldn't break it down after a few minutes of chewing. I embarrassingly took it out of my mouth and hit it on my plate because I simply couldn't digest it. Hoping that the next piece would get better, I took every option that arrived at the table. The next sample was a ribeye, but the edges were so blackened that it was like chewing on jerky. Chicken tenderloins came by that were so moist and delicious that I appreciated the break in textures, but when the next round of beef came by, I once again found myself disappointed to the point that I just turned my indicator over to red to have them stop coming by with meat .
After a few minutes, a new gaucho came by, offered some bacon wrapped chicken and asked how the meal was. I pointed to the uneaten pieces of been on my plate and said," to be honest I'm glad you were bringing chicken over because most of the beef hasn't been that great. It's been pretty dry and chewy." He looks at me and says, "alright Karen, we'll make sure it comes out more moist like you want."
I was having a great night up to that point. The beef didn't bother me, because there are DOZENS of options walking around, so even if I'm not happy with one thing, I will eventually be happy with enough something's until I'm stuffed. As soon as he said that I became furious, shut down, and lost my entire appetite. My wife kept asking me to go back to the buffet to get my mind off of it, but it was completely rude, unnecessary, and unprovoked. Five minutes later, one of the managers was doing the rounds to check in on tables and came by to see how we were doing. I asked, "do you actually want feedback, or is this more of a rhetorical question?" I explained the situation to him, and he then went to the house manager who came to me and said he would figure out a correct resolution. I told them that the only resolution I wanted was for him to apologize.
Ten minutes later, the individual in question came to my table, and to his credit, both apologized for being inconsiderate and listened to me explain how his word choice had impacted our evening. After I got my apology, I left $150 cash on the table to cover the bill and tip for the servers, but I will never bring another dollar back to this business.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Andy M.Caldwell, ID6318024Jan 18, 2023
Hours posted on the door didn't reflect actual hours. As a result, we stood around waiting, nobody telling us they were closed. One star for the incompetent front of the house.
Having been in this place, though, the only thing this place has going for it is the interior decor, which is very nice and modern with the white tablecloths. However, for pricing, a more expansive spread of food to choose from, and a higher level of customer service, I would favor Tucanos over this place. On pricing alone, this place costs twice what Tucanos does and offers less variety, so I would be surprised if the food was twice is good. The customer service certainly is not.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jerry S.Boise, ID83513Mar 23, 2023
I walked into the Brazilian steakhouse, the enticing aroma of grilled meat and spices hitting me as soon as I stepped inside. I had been looking forward to this meal for days, having heard rave reviews from friends and family. The hostess greeted me warmly and led me to my table, where I eagerly awaited my culinary adventure.
The concept of the restaurant was unique - servers walk around the dining room with skewers of various cuts of meat, offering them to patrons tableside. I eagerly flipped my table card to the green side, signaling that I was ready to indulge.
The servers began to arrive at my table, offering me slices of perfectly cooked sirloin, juicy chicken, and flavorful sausage. Each bite was a sensory delight, the savory flavors exploding in my mouth with each chew. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful with just the right amount of seasoning.
As I dined, I couldn't help but marvel at the restaurant's atmosphere. The décor was elegant and rustic, evoking the feeling of a Brazilian steakhouse, with warm lighting and rich wood accents. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive, always making sure my glass was full and my plate was never empty.
After indulging in several rounds of meat, I flipped my table card to the red side, signaling that I was full and satisfied. The dessert menu arrived, and I opted for the house-made flan, a creamy and decadent end to an incredible meal.
As I left the Brazilian steakhouse, I knew that I had just experienced something special. The combination of flavorful food, warm atmosphere, and attentive service had made this dining experience one to remember. I would certainly be back again, eager to indulge in the sensory delights of the Brazilian steakhouse once more.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 4, 2022
I love Texas de Brazil but this establishment was apparently down a server, and the rotation was that they'd feed everyone and then come to our table with one or two pieces left. We had to ask them to switch the rotation so we could also choose what we wanted. It took so long to get any meat that we filled up on bread, mashed potatoes and the salad bar. The hot foods section really needed some work. The scallop potatoes seemed like they could have been great, except it also tasted like a whole bottle of salt was mixed in. I definitely did not expect to pay close to $200 for some bread and salad.

We came back for a second time. So I give the place a 4-star adhesion because the food and drink were sooooooooooo good and very worth the price. The quality of the meats was ridiculous and we ate so much. My only complaint is that When we were seated we didn't have a waiter or waitress acknowledge us for a good amount of time. I would like to blame in on where we were seared, kind of tucked in the corner but there was a table behind us that was very much more tucked and they were taken care of very well. It wasn't until, who I assume, the manager walked by and noticed that we have been sitting patiently for even just water. He took very good care of us, got us our drinks, bread and plates.
When the guys were coming around to offer us the different meats they seemed... well I don't want to say rude but they were... off. I thought that they were just like that until I saw them interact with other tables and they were joking around and being very interactive with the tables. It was very strange. It wasn't until it was time for dessert that our actual waiter came to our table, didn't introduce himself or anything.
I did get the flan for dessert and it was soooo good. For drinks I got the Sammy's Mojito Royale and a coke. The mojito was the best I have ever had and, very strangely, the coke tasted really really good compared to most restaurants. The final small thing that was I little odd was that they offer still water and sparkling and we asked for still which came in a bottle. Nothing wrong with that but little did we know that each bottle was 7.50 each. No one told us that but that's OK.
We will be back, don't you worry.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 23, 2019Previous reviewThis place is beautiful! It wasn't very busy when we went which was really surprising. However, the meat was delicious and the quality was fabulous! The salad bar was huge and had so much variety and was oh-so-good!! The staff were all so very nice and too very good care of us. The place is higher priced but due to the better quality meats it was worth it.
We will definitely be returning for your meats and spreads and we are hungry for more!!! - Ann P.Fullerton, CA798214Feb 15, 2023
this is probably the weirdest review i will ever write.
Food- salad bar- meat- soup- potatoes- bananas - ALL THE FOOD- was wonderful. my hub said spicy picanha and lamb were tough - but he still ate them :)
Our waitress Rebecca was extremely attentive. Pretty sure we will go back.
Here's the weird part. we were sitting toward the back of the left side of the restaurant. i was facing where the wait staff goes in and out of the kitchen. i could see all the staff eating bowls of potatoes- snacking on meat slices- having drinks. There's a window at the back of the restaurant and one of the guys (dark hair-kind of a beard)who had previously been serving meat off the sword thing is standing in the window watching the diners. he takes a drink from a bottle of water and SPITS into- i don't know what. seriously a big swill and then spit.
So not sure.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jun 4, 2022

It is a shame that I have to contact your company for how poor of service we received yesterday for our Mother's Day meal. My family visits Texas de Brazil quite frequently, visiting multiple locations in CA, TX, LA, and now in Boise (where we currently reside). All our experiences have been fantastic, but yesterday's definitely left me unhappy. For starters, I made a reservation in advance for 4:30, figuring it would be busy for Mother's Day. We walk in for our reservation for 3 at 4:20pm and find a line at the front desk waiting to be seated. In front of us were two larger parties (4 and 6), with no reservations. Instead of having them stand to the side to assist those with reservations, we all waited in line the same amount of time. There was one hostess for the whole restaurant, running around trying to sit people and help the front desk. The non-reservations were sat first, then we were finally walked to a table in the far back in a glass room (away from everything and apparently proving reservations had no priority). From here out, the service was terrible. Our server, Rebekah, had zero urgency to assist anyone. From the time we sat, we had to ask for water multiple times, ask for soda/tea refills (which we received one in an hour span), ask for bread and sides (which we asked if we could get some 30min into our dining and she replied "oh did you want those?"), and then I had to go up to the salad bar and get clean plates for the meat, as none were offered to us. We were seated around 4:40pm, grabbed the salad bar, and had our green tags up. We waited over 35min before the first meat server even came to our table (which was sausages). While sitting in our back glass box, we see servers going to the main lobby serving food and we just waited and waited. I finally asked our server if anyone planned to visit our table and bring by food, which she was again like "oh, I am unsure let me find out". Meanwhile she can see we have no drinks or bread at our table, did not ask if we needed anything and left before I could ask. Finally one server 40min later comes by and serves us sausages. Rebekah then comes by and said "did you get what you were needing?" I told her we have had one person in 40min visit our table. Zero steak options, and is it possible we can get refills and bread? It was almost 50min before we finally received our first steak option, at a steakhouse. Another table had been seated about 20min after us, and the husband made a comment to Rebekah as well if we ever plan to get any meat. By the time it was 5:45pm, I was so upset and disappointed in the service, I flipped over the colored cards and told the server Rebekah we will take the check and we are done. I brought my wife and mother here hoping to have another great dining experience as we always receive, and instead left upset and feeling like we did not receive any of our money's worth in food or service. The fact I had to get my own clean plates for the table, no refills for drinks, had to ask for the table sides (bread, plantains, mashed potatoes), never asked if we would like more, and waited almost an hour before our first meat was brought to the table (which we had green tokens on every corner of the table hoping anyone would see them), is unacceptable, especially for a holiday such as Mother's Day.
Follow up, I contacted corporate customer service twice and never got any follow up emails or response, proving Texas de Brazil does not value customer service or quality visits.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christine L.Boise, ID66215565Jun 8, 2022
We were lured in by Daniel who is a friendly, personal and amazing manager...love my Boise Food Find group. I loved the salad/side bar...it taste real good and lots of gf options. The meat started a little slow on coming out & a few were over cooked but once it did they weren't messing around. The lamb was my fav, it was prepared, looked and tasted like quality meat. Our server Joe was extremely knowledgeable, funny, helpful and just a down right great employee. My bf gave 22% tip without a hesitation since he was so good...and we'll be back to try out the libations with our dinner next time
