Mike Simpson is serving his sixth term in the House of Representatives for Idaho's Second Congressional District. He is the first House member to be appointed to the Appropriations Committee from Idaho in more than 40 years. He is the Ranking member for the Subcommittee on Interior and Environment. He also serves on the Energy and Water Development Subcommittee. Prior to his election to Congress, he served three terms as Speaker of the House. Mike favors smaller government by transferring power back to the states.
